About Kinective Being

My Background

I’m Kirsten, I have been in the healthcare, fitness or therapy sectors for over 20 years, and I am a registered paramedic in acute pre-hospital care.

I have previously worked as a personal trainer with a particular interest in back issues and spinal health, I also worked in community outreach providing music therapy, as well as having been an onsite and community therapy assistant in neurological rehabilitation.

I have always felt drawn to natural and holistic medicine, functional training and bodywork therapies, all of which have helped me personally over the years and have now become an integral part of life.

You never stop learning! And I continue to have a passion and enthusiasm for gaining a deeper understanding in these areas and integrating new skills, tools and knowledge into the therapies I offer in order to further help clients.

My Approach

I have a particular interest in the body’s response to trauma having both witnessed and experienced the impact physical, mental, environmental or emotional stressors and trauma can have on the whole body.

Whether this has been sudden or prolonged, if left unresolved there may be the potential for a range of (sometimes preventable) health issues, persistent conditions, pain and dis-ease to occur.

I have equally seen how given the right tools and environment the body has an amazing and innate ability to heal, adapt and restore to its optimum place of balance.

Combining clinical knowledge and experience with a holistic approach, my aim is to encourage the natural healing and recovery process by providing a safe, supportive and adaptable space, together with therapies and treatment styles that best suit the individual at that time.

seeing the wood from the trees:

Although often unpleasant, symptoms can be the body’s way of reaching out and giving us information to listen and act.

We can easily become accustomed to putting things off, we may have subconscious beliefs that we just have to ‘put up’ with the symptoms, pain or issues we experience or worse still they becomes such an integral part of life that we view them as the ‘norm’. This can lead to resorting to quick fixes to mask them rather than trying to get to the root cause.

Taking time to prioritise, step back and look at the bigger picture, allows us to view and treat the body as a whole being, not just a list of symptoms.

the ripple effect:

When the body has been impacted by the likes of injury, poor postural habits, dysfunction or overuse it may lead to the development of imbalances and issues elsewhere.

It can be easy to think of our body as separate parts, especially when we have a specific issue that is bothering us. Focusing on and treating a certain area can and does have its place…. however, these ‘parts’ are not isolated, they make up an entire, unique (and amazing!) human being that continuously evolves and whose inner and outer systems all interlink, connect, store information and communicate.

By helping to rebalance and ease areas of restriction or pain, we can begin to recreate a more positive effect throughout the whole body.
