Massage with Kinective Being
Massage itself dates back thousands of years and is well known for its many therapeutic benefits. Over time the techniques, methods and application have been adapted and refined around the world and there are now many different types available.
Kinective Being offers sports, deep tissue and Swedish massage as well as seated/on-site acupressure massage.
Sports/deep tissue massage
Sports massage therapy can help in identifying muscle imbalances and overcompensation and addresses more specific areas of discomfort or concern with the use of assessments and additional techniques.
Although some techniques may be temporarily uncomfortable, no therapy should elicit pain! Doing so is counterproductive and can have a negative effect on the tissues and the nervous system, putting the body into a further state of resistance. The priority is always to work with the body and never against it.
Benefits
It may improve posture and flexibility, help release muscle tightness or pain and can play an important role in assisting with injury rehabilitation. Applying it before or after exercise can aid recovery, assist in injury prevention and may also enhance performance. Those experiencing pain or discomfort from possible work-related issues, poor postural habits or general overuse can also find benefit.
Swedish massage
Swedish massage is one of the oldest forms of Western massage. It applies longer, slower and more gentle massage strokes and is suited to those looking for a more calming and relaxing massage, rather than focusing on a specific area.
Everyone is different and what your body and mind needs can also change depending on how you feel on the day or in that moment! Chatting or drifting off, background music or just in need of some quiet time, the environment is of equal importance and sessions are tailored as best as possible to suit the individual.

Seated/onsite Acupressure Massage
Seated massage was first used many centuries ago and in more recent years some Eastern massages were adapted for use on a specially designed chair combining specific massage and acupressure techniques.
Acupressure works along meridian lines, aiming to stimulate and balance the flow of energy (Qi) throughout the body, The therapist applies pressure to these points using their hands, fingers, thumbs and elbows. The client remains clothed with no need for oils or lotions and the main areas of focus are the head, neck, back and arms.
The traditional sequence usually lasts 20-40 minutes and makes it ideal for use in workplaces, events or as a stand-alone treatment for those who are unable to lie flat on a standard therapy bed or who prefer to remain clothed.
Benefits
It is suggested that by helping stimulate and balance the flow of energy, seated acupressure massage may in turn promote the release of endorphins, ease tension and stiffness in the muscles and reduce stress and fatigue as well as improving alertness and concentration. It has also been reported to have helped with issues such as headaches, backache, RSI and anxiety.
